Goodluck Nigeria!

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has long established that he is a man favoured by providence. Many Nigerians believe that this is due to the name ‘Goodluck’ or how else do you describe a man who within the space rose from being a deputy governor of probably the smallest state in Nigeria to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Do not be surprised if every parent begin to give their children the name Goodluck. Last night, despite all odds the man was elected as the flagbearer of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. A sample of opinions from my friends reveal that many of them already see him as the president. Their argument? Whoever wins the PDP primary automatically becomes the president. Inspite of the northern consensus candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Goodluck floored last night which reminds me of Obasanjo’s “I DEY LAUGH”. Atiku behaved like a two year old whose feeding bottle was forcefully taken away. The bell that rings in my head whenever his name is mentioned is DESPERATION! DESPERATION!! and DESPERATION!!! A man who will do anything to become President. On the other hand, Jonathan seems to be a push-over though my colleagues have argued otherwise.Nuhu Ribadu has good intention but he lacks credibility having teamed with Tinubu. In my humble opinion Dele Momodu and others like him are wasting their time. The only other strong candidate is Mohammadu Buhari. He has consistently come second since the 2003 elections. However, Nigerians seem to be emotionally attached Jonathan. He should nevertheless know that emotion and goodluck will not sustain for the next four years. But for now i say “GOODLUCK TO ME, GOODLUCK TO YOU, GOODLUCK TO EVERYBODY, GOODLUCK NIGERIA HEY”
